Derry is a big-hearted, bountiful and an unforgettable city that’s bursting with flavour, brim-full with freshly picked produce from nearby land and sea, and a true jewel in Ireland’s food crown. The city’s passion for great tasting food and drink is unmistakable, driven by a commitment to local authenticity in every bite.
Derry’s vibrant food scene takes centre stage this February as the city hosts a monthlong celebration of Ireland’s Northwest flavours and the people who craft them.
From passionate local producers to lively restaurants, streetfood favourites and craic-filled bars, the LegenDerry Food Month showcases the chefs, makers and experiences that have put the city firmly on the radar of travellers planning food focused trips for 2026. Here are some highlights for the month ahead.

Foodie City cycle tour, Pyke and Pommes, Derry~Londonderry – Embrace a Giant Spirit
Wild and Fired Valentine’s Day Cooking
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a hands on live fire cooking experience at Wild and Fired at Brook Hall, rooted in the flavours and food traditions of Ireland’s northwest. Couples cook together over open flames using premium equipment from Big Green Egg, Weber, MAKON, Good Wood Fuel and YETI, guided by ICSA accredited instructors. The menu champions exceptional Irish producers – from Moyletra Moileds beef and Dart Mountain Cheese to Moore on the Quay seafood and Two Stacks Whiskey Cream. A relaxed, romantic celebration of Irish ingredients, fire and connection, a truly LegenDerry taste of place.
This two hour guided cycle is a lively spin through Derry, blending light exercise with local flavours and a fun introduction to the Irish language. Starting in St Columb’s Park, the route crosses the iconic Peace Bridge and follows the city’s riverside greenway, with a stop at Pyke N’ Pommes for a bite and a story about the mighty River Foyle and its Celtic mythology. The tour finishes at Crann Beatha Café in Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin — Derry’s Irish language cultural centre — where guests enjoy a warm drink, a sweet treat and a few words in the Irish language, including the essential “bia blasta”, meaning “tasty food”. A relaxed, authentic taste of Irish culture on two wheels.

Next, put both your beer and general knowledge to the test at the Walled City Brewery’s brewery quiz and tasting. With 15 different beer taps – the largest number in the city – and all beers brewed onsite, this event promises a high-energy evening in Ebrington Square.
Teams will battle it out over multiple themed rounds – from ‘Guess the Local Brew’ and ‘Derry Food Legends’ to ‘Tourism & Tastes of the Northwest’ – while enjoying a guided tasting flight of Walled City Brewery beers and a spread of legendary snacks (local cheeses, charcuterie, breads and dips, and chocolate).
Between rounds, our brewer and chef will share short, fun stories about the beers, the brewing process, and the local producers behind the food on the tables. The aim is to make people laugh, learn and fall a little bit more in love with Derry’s food and drink scene.
